The Problem with Parabens

Look around your kitchen and bathroom and you might be amazed with how many lotions, soaps, shampoos and cosmetics contain parabens.  Many companies love to use parabens because it is cheap and increases the shelf life of the product(s).  Most people are not aware of how toxic parabens can be and in fact researchers are continuing to uncover additional harmful side effects of parabens.  Numerous medical studies have revealed that parabens can be absorbed into our bodies and change estrogenic activity.  Additional studies are being done to further understand the possible link between parabens and certain types of cancers.

Parabens are a group of chemicals often used as a preservative in many commonly used products.  A paraben is often listed on a product label as either : methylparaben, butylparaben, ethylparaben, benzylparaben, isobutylparaben, and/or propylparaben, germaben II and liquiPar oil.

I highly suggest your further educate yourself on the potential harmful effects of parabens and encourage you to read the labels on the products you buy.  Before purchasing a product,  make sure it is 100% paraben free and discard all items you currently own that contain parabens.  What you put on your body is just as important as what you put in your body.  Being aware of  the ingredients of the products you and your family use, is a critical part of maintaining a healthy body.
